WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM
MCC will be installing and maintaining a water supply system to provide water to
the drill sites and for dust suppression activities. This system will minimize to an lazge
degree the need for water skidders and water trucks to travel the temporary roads. The
water supply system will include, but is not limited to, flexible hosing, rigid piping, water
pumps, and storage tanks.
MCC will install the water supply system prior to, or as soon as possible after the
construction of the drill pads. Intermediate use of water trucks to initiate the start of hole
drilling may be required. The hosing and /or pipes will be placed along side of existing
roads wherever practical. The lines will be anchored to prevent damage due to surging in
the lines. Flexible hosing will be laid out cross country to minimize total line length
and/or to maximize operational efficiency of the system. Cross country routes from16-07
to 17-08, from 16-02 to 16-01, and from 17-02 to 17-O1, are anticipated. MCC requests
the use of off-road ATV access along the water line routes to install, maintain, and
recover the lines.
The main waterline system will temporarily utilize the existing line in Sylvester
Gulch until Sylvester Road is constructed and the waterline installed along the roadway.
MCC anticipates the re-rout of the Sylvester Gulch line prior to the 2003 drilling season.
The line that follows West Flatiron Road will be extended along Long Draw Road to a
staging azea at drill site 16-05. Single or dual frac tanks and pumps will be situated at this
site to distribute the water to the holes east of the location including 16-01, -02, -03, -04,
17-01, -02, and -03. A sepazate line will extend south from the frac tanks at 16-OS to
provide water to 17-07, -06, -O5, and -04. A tee off the mainline at Sylvester Gulch -
West Flatiron Road junction will provide water to 16-07, -08, and 17-08, -09.
The approximate waterline, pump, and frac tank locations aze provided on the
attached Map 4. MCC will field locate the waterline alignments prior to installation for
review and approval by the responsible USFS representative
13
