The majority of the extracted material will be hauled to our ready mix plants in Holyoke
and Haxtun Colorado. The trucks will proceed from the north access onto county road
22 and travel east 7 1/2 miles on gravel roads to the Holyoke city limits and Hwy.6 .
Our plant is 112 mile east on Hwy. 6 on the west end of Holyoke within the city limits..
Trucks hauling to Haxtun will proceed from the north access west on county road 22, 7
1/2 miles to county road 7, then 3 1/2 miles north on county road 7 to Highway 6, then
1 mile west to Haxtun, which with the exception of the I mile on Hwy. 6 is gravel. If the
alternate access road is needed which runs from east to west, trucks will enter County
Road 21 from that point, travel slightly less than 1/2 mile north to County Road 22, and
then proceed the appropriate direction as stated above on County Road 22.
Periodically, deliveries are made to various rural sites from the pit, which the roads
used would vary. Our office and shop/maintenance buildings are located in Holyoke
and Haxtun. A screener will be on site to process rock and is gasoline powered. A
small trailer will be on site to satisfy MSHD requirement for first aid and restroom
facility. A diesel fuel tank, location which is indicated on Exhibit E, will be located
within a berm in case of accidental spills or leaks. The removal of overburden will be
done by a front end loader or dozer and material will be hauled off of pit site with
tandem trucks and tractors pulling end dump or belly dump trailers. Truck traffic will
stay within the boundaries and be where the soil will permit the weight.
The primary road access is by the west boundary line of NE1/4 of Section 14. It will run
north and south parallel to the existing fence where the corner post is, a distance of
1885 feet and access County Road 22, which runs east and west. The maximum width
of the road will be twenty feet. From the stated corner post, the access road continues
south but angles slightly to the east at a width of 20 feet for an additional 647 feet to a
metal, orange capped stake, herein identified as STAKE #1. STAKE #2 is placed
slightly north and west of #1 and the distance here is approximately 602 feet. Mining
will take place within the area to the south of this line. STAKE #3 is placed south a
distance of approximately 134 feet from #2. The line on the southern edge continues
southwest to a point at the south bank identified as STAKE #4, a distance of
approximately 430 feet. The line connecting STAKE #4 to STAKE #1 is approximately
376 feet and approximately 2.9 acres lies within this area. The southern bank
extending west of STAKE #4 will be the southern boundary and the disturbed area is
250 feet at the narrowest point and 625 at the widest point with the exception of the
access roads, which are 20 feet wide.
The map shows a fenced area ladled "1998 CRP, 1 A-15.0" . The corner post at the
south east corner of this fenced area marks the line, which if extended due south is
the extreme west boundary of the affected area. The distance from STAKE #1 at the
east edge of the boundary to the west boundary point is one half mile or 2,640 feet.
This point is indicated by a stake identified as Stake #5. An alternate access road
would be 20 feet wide and run east and west parallel to the 1998 CRP acres fence for
a distance of approximately 1250 feet from the said corner post to County Road 21,
which runs north and south. Total affected acres of Section 14 will be just under 23
acres.
EXHIBIT D MINING PLAN NARRATIVE
12
