Mr. Roy D. Blagg -2- February 4, 1483
Exhibit A
The existing legal description for this operation was for the original
56.13 acres. Please provide either a metes and bounds description of all
' 83 acres or a description to the nearest quarter quarter sections for the
entire 83 acres. This includes the 3 acres of haul roads to be
constructed. This is tF~e legal description that will appear on your
warranties and permit.
Exhibit C
~/ 1. What is the scale of the Area B map showing the location of fixed
J~ equipmentl
2. The measurements for the relative boundaries of Areas A and B
either as labelled or a<_• taken off the map by measuring with a ruler do
not give the relative acreages for each area as given. Please correct
the map.
X3. Contours (both present and final) for Area 8 should be shown.
4. The map should show all of those items listed under Rule 2.12(3).
Please review this rule and provide the items that are not shown.
Exhibit D
~l. What is the depth and thickness of the gravel that is to be mined?
2. A more precise description of the staging of the mining should be
given, with descriptions given of areas of major, moderate, and minor
X disturbance (in all three areas of the operation) as per Rule 2.12(4).
This will be needed in order to give a precise estimate of the
reclamation costs and required amount of the financial warranty.
3. All topsoil stockpiles left for one growing season or longer should
be planted with a perennial grass cover crop for purposes of
stabilization. I suggest Western wheatgrass at a broadcast rate of 6.0
lbs. PLS/acre.
4. The staff recommends stripping, stockpiling, and planting topsoil
from all affected land (e.g., mining areas, roads that will be reclaimed
by seeding, plant areas in Area B). All topsoil stockpiles should be
shown on the mining plan map.
X 5. What is to be the typical working face slope?
Exhibit E
X 1. How are the three acres of road easement to be reclaimed?
