•
-10-
EXHIBIT D - Reclamation Plan
1. General Reclamation Procedure:
As noted in the Mining Plan (Exhibit C) reclamation will
proceed concurrently with mining by the use of backfill rec-
lamation mining system. Final reclamation of the backfilled
cell will involve re-grading of topsoil and seeding with a
native seed mix and selected tree planting. (See Exhibit B
for seed mix).
2. Pre-Mining Baseline Data:
Prior to mining, baseline of the existing natural environ-
ment leas been obtained from the U.S.D.A.-S.C.S. for reclamation
purposes.
• No water degradation will occur due to the absence of
groundwater in the deposit and no use of chemical additives
in the plant - no water baseline data have been obtained.
Soil type and composition have been determined for the
disturbed site by the Soil Conservation Service (See Exhibit B).
3. Environmental Controls During Mining Operations:
During mining operation, fugitive dust will be controlled
by water sprays on the screen-crushing plants and feed hopper.
It is expected that gravels will be somewhat moist and dust
minimal during mining phases. Temporary straw bale dikes will
be used during mining and reclamation.
4. Re-contouring
Reclamation of the cells will be done while mining
•
