-11- <br />• continues in the next cell. Ttie surface will be re-graded to <br />approximate the original contours. Any waste gravel piles shall <br />be leveled and covered with topsoil. The general contours shall <br />be variable and similar to pre-mining conditions. No depressions <br />or "Doles" shall be left. <br />The new access road shall be shortened and reclaimed pro- <br />gressively as each cell is mined. <br />Any slopes constructed or re-centoured shall be no greater <br />than 3~1. <br />5. Topsoil Replacement and Reseeding: <br />'Topsoil from each progressive cell stockpile shall be <br />placed on the re-graded disturbed surface and re-graded on the <br />• new contoured surface with a tractor. Thickness of soil should <br />approximate original conditions - 18" to 20". Soil may be <br />bladed up to but not over the edge of the south and west slopes. <br />Care should be taken not to compact soil more than necessary. <br />The soil shall be fertilized with 40 pounds per acre of <br />an ammonium nitrate fertilizer, or as directed by the Soil <br />Conservation Service. <br />The rough soil surface shall be seeded with 65 pounds per <br />acre of live seed according to the mix described in Exhibit B <br />or as based on the plant inventory or Soil Conservation Service <br />office. It is helpful to seed in excess of the calculated re- <br />quirements to ensure adequate seed grovath. Seed shall be <br />applied using hand broadcast methods. <br /> <br />
