_~ RECLAMATION PLAN EICHIBIT E (Continued)
seeded with the approved mixture of grasses and shrubs. This will
happen in the fall of 1990 or the spring of 1991.
1 As each mining stage is completed and the next one started
final shaping will begin. All slopes will be established in their
final form. The floor of the mine will be graded and preparation
will befit for recoiling the area disturbed. If enough soil is
salvageable it will the respread between 3 and 5 inches averaging
I 4 inches. Because of the nature of the topsoil there may not be
enough to do this and we will have a better idea of how much
~ topsoil/growth medium will be available at the time of reclamation.
RE{1EGETATION INFORMATION
Revegetation will be carried out in such a way as to establish
a diverse, effective and long-lasting vegetative cover that is
capable of self-regeneration without continued dependence on
irrigation, soil amendments or fertilizers. The idea is to create
I a vegetative cover that is at least equal in extent to the cover
of the natural vegetation prior to mining. The use of species
native to the area will be included in hopes that successful
reclamation will be accomplished at a minimum cost. Since the
intended use of the reclaimed land is the same as its present use,
the land will be restored to slopes commensurate with such uses.
All seed will be broadcast, we feel this is more practical due
to the overall steepness of the terrain. The revegetation plan
provides for the greatest probability of success in plant estab-
I lishment and vegetative development by considering environmental
factors such as seasonal patterns of precipitation, temperatures
and wind. Other factors, such as soil texture, fertility, slope
stability and the direction in which slopes face, have been considered.
REVEGSTATION PROGRAM.
The revegetation program to be implemented by Dotsero Block,
Inc. is detailed below. It incorporates recommendation taken from
the report prepared by Mr Rick Olson of the Soil Conservation
13
