• Page 2 July 23, 2003
10. Peter Wayland M.S. Geologist has signed 6chibit F -Reclamation Plan Map.
6.4.7 EXHIBR G -Water Information
11. Coulson would like to choose option D) whereas a temporary substitute supply plan and
associated well permit will be in place prior to mining below the water table. It is not anticipated
that the well permit will be approved prior to the decision date for this application and therefore
the applicant would request that the well permit be a wndition of approval. .
12. There are no wells within 600ft of the proposed excavation.
13. Approximately 2 acre ft of water per year will be used for dust control and washing materials.
14. Operational water will come from pumped groundwater-that will be augmented with the
temporary substitute supply plan
15. Flow meters will be installed upstream and downstream of the pit site to determine historic
ditch foss. If pumping affects the ditch flows, water will be pumped back into the ditch. The
details of this operation will be included in the temporary substitute supply plan.
6.4.12 EXHIBIT L -Reclamation Costs
16. The revised plan divides the project into two phases. Phase I will occur east of the gas pipeline
and Phase II west of the gas pipeline.
17. F~chibit L has been revised to reflect 2ft topsoil replacement
18. Dewatering cost in exhibit L accounts for worst case scenario
6.4.19 EXHIBIT S -Permanent Man-made Structures
19. The permit area has been adjusted to occur greater than 200 ft from the Hillsborough Ditch. An
agreement with Kaneb pipeline could not be reached and therefore a revised Geotechniral
slope stability analysis has been performed. The results of the analysis show a 40ft setback
measured from toe of slope is adequate to protect the pipeline regardless of pit wall slope.
20. Additional permanent man-made structures within 200 ft including an old building in severe
disrepair and irrigation laterals used only by the Stroh farm are on Coulson property and are
owned by Coulson.
Additional Comment from Mr. Sorenson
Please see response td Exhibit S
I hope we have addressed the adequacy review comments completely.
Sincerely,
I~ "~~ ~l,ti,~~
Peter Wayland
President
