Basically, the application is in good shape. However, the <br /> staff needs some clarification of the mining plan and would like to <br /> comment on the reclamation plan. Staff comments follow below: <br /> Mining Plan <br /> 1. The staff needs some clarification of the operating phases and <br /> site disturbance section. <br /> a. In Phase VI , the plan says that all gravel from Area 3 is <br /> removed. This is supposed to be done io Phase ill. Did <br /> you mean that gravel from Area 6 is removed in Phase V17 <br /> b. In Phase 1X, the plan says all gravel from Area 6 is removed. <br /> Shouldn't this be Area 9? <br /> c. While the reclamation plan Indicates that Area 1 will be <br /> reseeded In Year 2 and Area 6 will be reseeded in Year 9, <br /> this is not Indicated In the mining plan. Will reseeding <br /> of these areas proceed as Indicated In the reclamation <br /> timetable? <br /> 2. d. if the pond is enlarged, what thoughts do you have on which <br /> areas the pond might be expanded Into? <br /> 2. Will the berm and the fence around the pit remain after reclamation <br /> is completed? <br /> (cont'd.) <br />
