J. KUIP IIER,M) ,
SUBJECT: BESTWAY PAVIN PI #1, WELD COUNTY, APPLICATION FOR MINING
AND RECLAMATION PERMIT
As requested by your office, we have reviewed the application for a gravel
pit near Greeley. The applicant has provided insufficient information con-
cerning his use of water in the proposed mining operation. If water will
be required for dust control, gravel washing, sanitation, or other purposes,
we recommend that the Board be provided with additional information con-
cerning the source and amounts of water to be used . The applicant has filed
an augmentation plan (W-8640) with the Division 1 Water Court in order to
prevent injury due to dewatering and evaporation. We cannot recommend
approval of the permit until the Water Court has issued a decree for the
augmentation plan.
CJK/SSH:mvf
cc: Jim Clark, Div. Eng.
Irrigationists Association
