During the construction of the loadout facility, two irrigation <br />• ditches were disturbed. The ditches were not relocated, but the area <br />of disturbance was lined to prevent leakage. <br />The sediment pond and the Snowmass Coal Reservoir are currently lined. <br />No additional ponds or ditches are contemplated at the loadout at this <br />time. According to paragraph 6 at Case No. 80 CIJ 107, it was decreed <br />that Snowmass' augmentation plan will not cause material injury to the <br />owners or users of vetoed water rights or conditional water rights in <br />the Colorado River or its tributaries. Snowmass Coal Company intends <br />to comply at all times, with the plan for augmentation. <br />Surface runoff will be retained in the sedimentation pond. The <br />following is the pond designation and volume including sediment storage. <br />Designation Volume Surface Area <br />Pond 1 7.9 AC-FT .80 AC <br />• Water discharged according to the augmentation plan will be analyzed <br />according to the Division's Surface Water Quality Monitoring List. <br />Also, the water will comply with the applicable NPDES Permit require- <br />ments. The Permit application form for Well No. 2 is listed in <br />Appendix 4-B. <br />4.6.1.4 Protection of Public Parks and Historic Places <br />The mine area_ is not on any lands within the boundaries of the <br />National Park System, the National Wildlife Refuge System, the <br />National System of Trails, the National Wilderness Preservation <br />System, the Wild and Scenic Rivers System, including study rivers <br />designated under Section 5(a) of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act, or <br />National Recreation Areas designed by Act of Congress. <br />4.6.1.5 Subsidence <br />• Subsidence is discussed in detail in a report prepared by Mine <br />Subsidence Engineering Company, and is incorporated .in this permit <br />application as Appendix 4-H. <br />4-128 <br />
