Engineering services contract issuance
cost 1.75% ($497,600) $ 8,700
Total Reclamation Cost $ 527,400
The refuse pile was reclaimed in 1986. The work consisted of regrading the top bench of
refuse to establish a suitable final subgrade, covering all exposed refuse with 4' of cover,
extinguishing an old fire west of the pile, establishing a rip rapped channel and seeding.
The cover material was excavated from the upper wash plant pond to eliminate importing
soil. Other factors reducing the covering cost was the work previously done while the pile
was being constructed and the smaller total disturbed area than permitted. The remaining
earthwork at the site is eliminating the refuse pile sediment pond and establishing a rip
rapped channel across the reclaimed pond.
The revegetation work in the fall of 1986 involved seeding, fertilizing and crimping straw
mulch where possible and broadcast seeding, fertilizing and netting straw mulch on the
steeper slopes.
• 4-71 Revised June 1998
RN-o3
TR-ao
