6.3 COAL PFOC,ESSING PLANS AAID SUPPORT FACILITIESS NOT I,OCATID WITIiIN
THE PERMIT AREA (2.06.10)
•
Trinidad Basin Mining uses anoff-site loadout facility for crushing,
storing (temporary) and loading of the coal into railroad cars. The
loadout is located in Trinidad on property owned by the AT&SF Railway
Ca:g~any. The authorization for this use has been presented in Exhibit
III-2, said exhibit also furnishes the location of the loadout.
The loadout facility is located adjacent to the AT&SF tracks and
is conprised of app**+Y~+++~tely 23 acres. The physical layout of the
facility has been shown on Map V-3. As can be seen on the map, the area
is almost flat and all disturbed lands are serviced by the various
oa~g:onents of the sediment control system. It should be noted that
no processing plants are located at the site.
The operation of the facility is very basic in that coal is hauled
• to the site for crushing and loading into railway cars. There is no
cleaning or washing of coal at the site. The coal is crushed per the
size requiretre_nts of TBM's customers, loaded into the cars and shipped.
The reclamation of the site will entail rertwing of all strictures
constructed by TBM and removal of the opal used as pads. The structures
to be removed as as follows: crusher, truck ramp, office and sediment
control system. The opal used in the pads will b° relroved and hauled
to the mine for burial in the last cut. By completing these activities
the site will be left in a condition which is attractive to another
industrial user and consistent with the surface owner's requirements.
The requirem=nts of Rule 4.28 are not applicable to the loadout
and TBM has furnished sufficient information to demonstrate oonq~lianoe
• with the other requirements of Rule 4 for the loadout.
VI-5
