• C.pluration Pennit Application (P.emoval of 250 Tons or Less of Coal)
Road Construction - No road construction is contemplated in conjunction
with this drilling program. Some minor improvement to existing roads
may be required.
Drill Cutting and Debris Disposal - All equipment, supplies and debris
associated with the drilling project will be removed from the site.
Excess drill cuttings will be disposed of in the refuse dump at
the Dorchester fl Mine.
S) Threatened and Endangered Species - hone of the resident wildlife
species of the area are listed on, or are being considered for the
Federal or State Threatened or Endangered Species List. Peregrine
Falcons may migrate through the general area. however, the proposed
drilling activity will not adversely affect the species.
hlr. Scott Peterson, Colorado Natural Heritage P,•ogram was contacted
regarding the occurrence of threatened or endangered plans in the
region. He indicated that there are no recorded ocurrences of plant
species listed as threatened or endangered in the vicinity of the
proposed exploratory drilling. 'Three species (Eriooonum brandeaei,
Penston~er degeneri and Fiirabilis rotundifolia) included on notices of
review for potential listing have been reported, he::ever, to occur
• in the region.
Elevation of the drill sites range from 5720 feet to 6750 feet.
P, deaeneri and M. rotundifolia are reported to occur at lor:er elevations.
E. brandeQei has been recorded, hov, ever, up to 7000 feet. Due to
the limited amount of disturbance as a result of the exploratory drilling,
it is highly unlikely that this species will be affected.
