pit and compacted by the reclamation equipment. All spoils will be graded, •
highwalls reduced and spoil piles and depressions eliminated except those
depressions that existed prior to mining.
Backfilled material will be placed by the dragline to minimize adverse
effects on groundwater, minimize off-site effects and to support the approved
postmining land use.
Cut and fill terraces are not proposed at the Seneca II Mine, except as
required by 9.03 .117)(a)Ivii).
Hox cut material at the Wadge "left open" pit located approximately between
coordinates 18,300 East 25,500 South and 17,150 East 27,400 South has been graded
into the existing topography and a portion reclaimed. This pit was excavated
during 1981 and 1982 and portions graded in 1983.
Hackfilling of this pit is accomplished as the Wadge East pit is mined. An
examination of Exhibit 12-1 will show the East pit cuts abutting into the Wadge •
"left open^ pit as each cut is mined up the hill. As the dragline approaches the
left open pit, spoil material excavated from each East pit cut is backfilled into
the left open pit. This procedure was also followed as each west pit cut abutted
into the southern extension of the left open pit which has been reclaimed. The
remaining open pit is approximately 90-95 feet deep.
•
TR-36 72-53a Revised 09/04
