<br />State Reg. <br />1. All drilled holes not completed in aquifers will be sealed • <br />by replacing cuttings in the hole and placing an octo spider <br />plug, or other approved expanding plug ten (10) feet below <br />the ground surface to support a cement plug to within three <br />(3) feet of the ground surface. The hole will then be <br />marked. <br />2. All drilled holes completed in aquifers will be sealed using <br />an approved slurry, cement, or other sealant by placing the <br />sealant in the hole from the bottom to within ten (10) feet <br />of the surface. Holes which have multiple aquifers or <br />bedrock aquifers not exhibiting artesian flow at the <br />surface, will be sealed using a solid cement plug extending <br />20 feet above and below the water bearing zone. A surface <br />plug will be placed as delineated in 4.07.3(1) and the hole <br />will be marked. <br />3. Within sixty (60) days after abandoning a series of drill • <br />hales that have been previously approved by the Division <br />under a Notice of Intent to Conduct Prospecting, or when <br />requested by the Division, Peabody will submit a report <br />detailing the following information. <br />a. Location of the drill hole as spotted accurately on a <br />topographic map; <br />b. Depth of drill hole; <br />c. Surface elevation of drill ho]e; <br />d. Intervals where water was encountered during drilling <br />activities; <br />e. Diameter of drill hole; <br />f. Type of cement or other approved sealant; • <br />12-65 Revised 8/27/86 <br />
