3
• or diamond drill stations will be driven, and, before mining commences
on any ore block, the ore zone will be delineated further by under-
ground test holing.
After development is complete, ventilation is adequate and a
second escapeway has been provided, a modified room and pillar
stoping method will be used to mine the ore. This stoping method
is similar to the one presently used in the Uravan t1ineral Belt,
i.e., leaving waste pillars, and ore pillars wherever necessary for
roof support. The equipment and methods described in the develop-
ment phase will be utilized in the mining phase.
WATER CONTROL
From exploration drilling and a knotirledge of what the mines of
the general area have encountered in the past, no water problem
is expected. If any amount of water in encountered, it will be
pumped to the main sump, clarified, and then pumped to a surface
evaporation pond. The pond will be constructed if and only if
water is encountered in excessive amounts.
VENTILATIOPI, RADIATIOIJ COIJTROL AP:D SECOND ESC APE WAY
Initially air will be incast by a 50 HP single stage fan
through 30 inch diameter vent tubing and exhaust back through
the main decline. After the decline is completed, a ventilation
hole (seven foot diameter) will be upreamed, fitted with a fan, and
incast approximately 100,000 CF14.
As the development proceeds away from the bottom of the decline,
additional intake and exhaust ventilation holes will be installed
• as needed in conjunction with breakthroughs to contiguous mines.
