<br /> <br />4 <br />• There is a minimal amount of surface disturbance associated with <br />ventholes. All cuttings form the hole fall into the mine. Only <br />a three foot high fan and a 16' by 2' concrete lpad stand on the <br />completed site. <br />Several technical revisions are anticipated for venthole site <br />changes because of changes in location of underground workings. <br />Radon control will be accomplished in two ways, one being the <br />driving of the main development headings in barren ground wherever <br />possible and having enough volume of air flowing through the stope <br />areas so that the radon is diluted down to acceptable limits. <br />All working areas will be continuously monitored for radon gas <br />concentrations and records kept in accordance with t9SHA regulations. <br />Also, enough of a volume of air will be provided so that air regrrire- <br />. vents are above the minimum required for diesel equipment and manpower. <br />SAFETY <br />Existing state and federal regulations regarding control of <br />fire, pollution of water and air, protection of other natural resources, <br />and public health and safety will be followed during mining and upon <br />abandonment. These precautions include: <br />1. Fire protection - Extensive use of fire extinguishers <br />wherever necessary with any uncontrolled fire °ing reported <br />to the manager, 14ontrose District, U.S. Bureau of Land <br />I!anagersnt, Ilontrose, Colorado. <br />2.. Existing state and federal regulations - Conform to all <br />regulations of 115HA and other applicable agencies ~rhich <br />include posting of appropriate signs on the surface; <br />gate on the access road; and lockable doors on the decline. <br />\. <br />
