i
RECLAlfATION PLAN
EXBIBIT E (cont)
the relocated ditch. Trees to be used may include but is not limited
' to cottonwood, russian olive, or eastern red ceder. There may also
be shrubs planted within this line such as willow, and caragana.
I FERTILIZER.
Because of poor soil conditions and the necessity for using
I fines, it is the operator's plan to collect samples of redistributed
soil, have it analyzed, and add fertilizers before seeding as
indicated by test results. Top soiled areas may be tested again
during the beginning of the second year and fertilizer added
1 accordingly because the soils may lose their nutrients rapidly.
SEEDBED PREPARATION.
When the soils and fines have been spread and the fertilizer
distributed, the surface will be smoothed and worked until moderately
fine where the seed is to be drilled; the surface will be left
fairly rough where seed is to be broadcast.
SEEDING TI!!E.
The seed mixture will be planted at one of two times. If fall
planting is convenient, it will be performed before the first
freeze (about the time Winter Wheat is planted). If spring planting
is convenient, it will be done in late April or in May. The time
of planting will be controlled by when the soil areas are ready
for planting.
GRASSES.
The recommended seed mixture is shown below. The rates are
I applicable to drilling. If seed is broadcast, the rates will be
doubled.
1 Species Lbs.
