1
RECLANATION PLAN
EXHIBIT E (cont)
There are no dredge facilities nor are there any temporary
siltation structures involved in this operation. There will be no
earthen dams.
The mining and reclamation plans take into consideration
existing wildlife conditions. Construction of roads, the I-70
game fence just north of the property and activity in the Town of
Eagle to the west already have disturbed wildlife in the general area.
The mining and reclamation plans take into account the safety
and protection of wildlife remaining on the mine site, at the
processing sites and along all access roads to the site. Wildlife
habitat creation and management is not a specific part of the
reclamation plan. However, whenever possible, the operator will
work toward the improvement of the habitat for wildlife.
Topsoil 'in the area is either nonexistent or extremely poor
in quality. when topsoil must be removed to reach the mineral
deposit, the topsoil will be segregated and stockpiled. If the
topsoil is not replaced onto a seedbed within a short enough
period of time to avoid deterioration, a vegetative cover or other
means will be employed to preserve the topsoil from wind and
weather erosion and keep it free of contaminants so that it remains
useful for sustaining vegetation when reclamation begins. The
stockpiles will be located in areas where disturbances by ongoing
mining operations will be at a minimum ie along setbacks above the
flood plane of the Eagle River. The topsoil will be handled as
little as possible until it is replaced into disturbed areas. The
operator will take measured necessary to insure the stability of
the replaced topsoil on graded slopes, spreading it as evenly a
possible. Fertilizer and other soil amendments will be used as
the soil tests indicate in accordance with the SCS recommendations.
REVEGETATION INFORNATION
Revegetation will be carried out in such away as to establish
a diverse, effective and long-lasting vegetative cover that is
capable of self-regeneration without continued dependence on
15
