• SUMMARY OF COALDALE h1I1fING PLAN BY AREA
(Refer to Mining Plan Maps for Locations)
Senatore Hill
The central portion of the ore horizon as shown on the Affected Land
Overlay is named Senatore Hill, comprising 10.7 acres of Affected land.
Development work initiated in 1975 is now concentrating on level develop-
went at the 6900 elevation. By 1982, hangingwall material will be pushed
to the Northeast, facilitating development of ore extraction levels below
the 6900 level, and will continue downward and slightly East for the life
of mine. Reclamation activities will start as soon as hangingwall develop-
went is completed, about 1983, although the interior pit, as per tfagazine
. Hill, will be delayed from reclamation efforts until mining is completed
in these areas. The Senatore Hill Area presently offers an excellent
example of the poor mining practices of the past. A 40' thick, deeply
dipping gypsum bed was mined out in this area, leaving behind an extremely
dangerous, 120' overhanging highwall over 350' long. In order to mine
the remaining gypsum in this area, the entire highwall must be removed
part of the "hanging wall" area on the North East side the gypsuu: deposit.
•
