ANALYSIS

Springs
During the drilling program of 1983 a spring was located in SE/4
Sec. 6, T34S, R63W (Map 20). The spring, which has been piped
and supplies water to a trough, issues from the Raton Formation.
Drill hole AM-6, which was placed up hill from the spring,
intercepted the water at a depth of 20-40 feet. Flow was
measured at approximately 2 gpm; water samples were not
collected. To protect the spring, upon hole abandonment, a
cement plug was set from 3-50 feet below the surface.
The spring is located outside the reserve area of the Raton Creek Mine
and will not be affected by any posible subsidence connected with
the Raton Creek Mine
Water Well Levels and duality
There have been no significant, relative changes in the levels or
qualities of the Iuppa or Sundance wells since they were checked
by Fisher, Harden and Fisher or since the start of mining.
In fact, the refuse well drilled at the toe of the refuse pile,
to monitor the mine site water, has nearly always shown lower TDS
values than the Iuppa well.
155
Revisal S/93
