• <br />Soil Replacement <br />Topsoil will be replaced on the disturbed areas to a depth averaging about four <br />inches. <br />Seed Bed Preparation <br />Prior to reseeding, areas disturbed by the operation will be disced, or similarly <br />worked, in order to provide for an adequate seed bed. Chemical fertilizer will be <br />worked into the soil at the time of the seed bed preparation. <br />Seed Mixture and Seeding Rates <br />The proposed seed mixture for seeding disturbed areas consists of a diverse <br />mixture of grasses and a shrub specie prepared by staff of the Natural Resources <br />Conservation Service (NRCS). The proposed mixture appears below and is based on <br />a drilled density of 40 PLS/ft.2. A Truax-type of range drill will be used for seeding <br />disturbed areas. Where a seed drill cannot be used the seeding rate appearing below <br />will be doubled and broadcast.
