road, approximately two weeks, no problems are anticipated by using spoil
material as a surfacing media for the road.
Once the topsoiling project is ow~q~leted the road will be reclaimed. 'This will
include grading the road so that it blends in with SurrourrLng topography,
removing the drainage crossings, and redistributing the topsoil. Given the short
duration of the project, the stockpiled topsoil will be treated as "live handled"
topsoil. Therefore, no seeding will be required for the corridor.
Concerning general topsoil activities at CYCC, any topsoil that is moved as a
result of mining or supportive operations will be stockpiled or windrowed in an
appropriate location. If the topsoil is to be stored for longer than one year,
it will be seeded with one of the approved seed mixtures.
There are several other revisions to the approved Life of Mine Topsoil Plan.
The first involves approximately 48,300 yds3 from about 20 acres scheduled for
live handling in Area 60/61. This material will be windrowed by dozers into a
. long stockpile, as necessitated by steep slope operational constraints. This
topsoil will also be respread by dozens pushing the material up slope. If the
topsoil is not respread within one year, it will be seeded. A portion (5000
yd3) of the windrowed stockpile was transported to the east side of Area 60/61
in order to accommodate for the wnstruction of the power cable corridor. Permit
Renewal Map 7 has been revised to show these changes as well as the modification
for Area 61 access nxd (Minor Revision 88-32). Topsoil frvtn the access road
was windrowed to the upslope side and will be redistributed once the road is no
longer utilized. The thins technical revision involves an aspen regeneration
study which was approved Septanber 10, 1985. This involved the live handling
of six actvs
•
MR 90-54 F~rmit Renewal 780-107-1 (c) Revised 07/16/90
