In order to acowmnodate topsoil redistribution at the west end of Area 51 a
temporary access road will be constructed from topsoil stockpile 34 into the
area. The temporary access road corridor will be approximately 70 feet in width,
which will provide sufficient morn for the access road (approximately 25 feet
wide) and topsoil to be windrowed to the sides of the road. The corridor will
intersect two drainages, and when the mad crosses the drainages fill material
will be placed to provide for a crossing thru the drainage.
The topsoil will be salvaged to a depth of approximately 14-16 inches and
te~orarily stockpiled adjacent to the road. The prrsent plans indicate it will
take approximately 2 weeks to conq~lete the required topsoil haulage from the
pile. Phis is contingent upon equipment availability and weather conditions.
The topsoil will be windrowed to both sides of the mad, as depicted on Permit
Renewal Map No. 7, Ec7an~-ur Park, Life of Mine Topsoil Plan. Approximately 6,300
CY of topsoil will be windrowed.
In reference to the crossing, it will be constructed with fill borrowed from the
adjacent sections of the access mad. The crossing, which is ter~orary, will
• be removed if it appears that excessive rains will wash out the crossing. When
the project is cong~leted the material will be removed from the drainages and
the drainages will be reestablished per the approved specifications.

The road will be constructed so that the overall grade does not exceed to%.
Likewise, the grade will not exceed 15% for any consecutive 1,000 feet, nor will
there be more than 300 feet within a 1000 foot section when the grade exceeds
15$. The slopes of the mad cut will not exceed 1V:1.5H. All of the drainage
from the road will pass into pond A for treatment before being discharged.
The road will be wnstructed out of spoil material. 'This material has been used
successfully as a road surfacing material at CYCC. Given the short life of the

MR 90-54 Permit Renewal 780-107-1 (b) Revised 07/16/90
