This plan could have a devastating
effect on our school and on our community should
there ever be a flood or any other natural disaster.
The cyanide leach pads, which will be
approximately three miles away, are entirely too
close to our school and to our children. The fact
that the mine will be using 900 tons of cyanide
within a one-year period is very disturbing and
extremely frightening.
If the leach pads ever spill their
contents, the natural path of the contaminated water
flow will be directly through our school building and
playground.
I would like to be assured that our
children and our community are going to be Eully
protected from such a tragedy ever occurring.
