JOUFLAS: Who is your next <br />witness? <br />MR. GALLEGOS: Marie? Marie! Gomez. <br />(Discussion off the record.) <br />MS. GOMEZ: My name is Marie Gomez, <br />and I would -- I'm not used to making presentations <br />like this in front of groups this large. I'm used <br />to speaking to my second graders, who are about <br />seven or eight years old, so to make sure I include <br />everything, I'm just going to read my statement. <br />MR. JOUFLAS: They can't hear. <br />MS. GOMEZ: Okay. My name is Marie <br />Gomez. My name is Marie Jaquez Gomez. I've lived <br />in San Luis all my life. I attended elementary, <br />junior high, and I graduated from Centennial High <br />School there. <br />After earning my degree I returned to <br />San Luis where I have been teaching elementary school <br />children for the past 17 years. <br />Needless to say, I love my little town <br />and hold San Luis very dear to my heart. I am here <br />to speak on behalf of my second graders and all other <br />elementary students from San Luis who cannot voice <br />
