JAQUEZ: These are the clean
waters of the Rito Seco that we would like to
retain. We spoke to our group from our sister town,
Questa, New Mexico, Molt' Corp.
Molt' Corp. is again a large mine.
They have come in and they have taken out hundreds of
millions of dollars from that community, and Questa
is as poor as it ever was. They are employing
something like 17 percent of their staff or their
workers are from the Questa area when they are
working when they are not shut own. They are
presently shut down.
Their water does not look like this
(indicating). It looks green to bluegreen, and
there is nothing they can do about it.
We ask the Mined Land Reclamation
Board, please, table the approval of this permit
until these concerns have been addressed more
carefully.
