Section 785.19 (c) Continued.

Bush Draw is an intermittent stream valley which drains 4.8 square
miles. Stream-laid deposits were found on the surface and in
backhoe pits in the draw along the valley bottom. A narrow flood-
plain is present in the draw, except in several locations where the
valley narrows and the stream channel is bounded on both sides by
bedrock outcrops.
Williams Draw is an intermittent stream valley which drains 4.5
square miles. Stream-laid deposits were mapped in the draw along
the valley bottom. The same type of geomorphic characteristics
found in Bush Draw occur in Williams Draw, i.e., a narrow, discon-
tinuous floodplain bounded by bedrock outcrops.

1
Sudduth Draw is an intermittent stream valley which drains 3.8
square miles. Stream^laid deposits are present all along the
stream valley in a floodplain approximately 200 feet wide. The
geomorphology of the stream has been altered by the construction of
four small stock ponds in the mine plan and adjacent area. The
floodplain of Sudduth Draw was apparently continuous along the
length of the draw prior to the construction of the ponds, although
the dam of each pond was built completely across the floodplain and
mapping the exact outline of the stream-laid deposits is not pos-
sible. With this one exception, the distribution of stream-laid
deposits in Sudduth Draw is identical to that of Williams and Bush
Draws.
Litholbgy bf'IIdc6nsblidatAd"Deposits
From logs of backhoe pits and surface observations, the stream-laid
deposits of Bolton, Bush, William and Sudduth Draws, shown on Map
16, Kerr Mine Area Surface Water Hydrology, were nearly identical
and were found to consist entirely of clayey alluvium with very
little gravel or sand material, as shown on Map 40, Kerr Mine Area
Stream Channel Cross Sections. Beneath the topsoil and root zones,
785-9
