Section 785.19(d) Continued. <br />potential of being affected, the non-irrigated pasture owned by Mr. <br />Lloyd Hampton located west of the Kerr Tipple Area and the <br />Noffsinger, Dodge, and Streit Ranches located in the Canadian River <br />floodplain east of the Kerr Mine Area. <br />•' <br />To document the type and quantity of agricultural activities per- <br />formed in these four areas, Kerr Coal made an exhaustive search of <br />the Ranch Management Plans located in the North Park Soil Conserva- <br />tion District Office located in Walden and in the Allotment Manage- <br />ment Plans required by the BLM for livestock grazing management <br />planning. Although both of these agencies are required to have <br />this type of information in their files, no suitable information <br />could be located to document the type and quantity of agricultural <br />activities performed in these areas. Consultation with the Jackson <br />County Administrator-Planner revealed that lands currently utilized <br />as irrigated hay lands, irrigated pasture, and non-irrigated pas- <br />ture could be found on the present Jackson County Land Use Map. <br />Areas pertaining to the potential alluvial valley floor areas have <br />been included on the North Park Land Use Map 27. <br />Consultation with the owners of the four ranches yielded inconclu- <br />sive data. Mr. Lloyd Hampton informed Kerr Coal that the area <br />adjacent to the Kerr Tipple Area contains between 80 and 100 acres <br />and is currently used as dryland pasture for horses and cows. He <br />stated that the land had been hayed occasionally in the early <br />1970's and was irrigated but has not been irrigated or hayed for <br />seven or eight years. <br />I . <br />The three owners of ranches located in the Canadian River fload- <br />plain, Mr. Robert Noffsinger, Mr. C. J. Streit, and Mr. Harold <br />Dodge, Jr. were contacted by Kerr Coal to determine the amount of <br />hay and grazing contributed by those portions of their ranches <br />lying within the alluvial valley floor.
