Section 785.19(c) Continued.
\J
to the Kerr Tipple Area is affected by several sources not asso-
ciated with mining activities. Therefore, a full investigation of
the cumulative impact of all these features on the essential hy-
drologic functions of the Illinois River floodplain is beyond the
scope of this study. Data collection and analysis regarding the
water availability characteristics of the Illinois River floodplain
are restricted to the local vicinity adjacent to the Kerr Tipple
Area.
I •
The second subject area, the floodplain of the Canadian River, is
an area of extensive grazing and hay cropping usage (See Map 27,
North Park Land Use). The investigation of water availability on
the Canadian River floodplain is focused upon an inventory of
irrigation water rights, the quantity and quality of water in the
four intermittent draws draining the mine plan area tributary to
the Canadian River floodplain, and the quantity and quallty of the
river itself.
The third subject area, Bolton Draw, is downstream from the mine
plan area and is a narrow floodplain holding an intermittent stream.
Drainage from the south end of the existing Marr Mine is tributary
to Bolton Draw.
The fourth area in Bush Draw, the fifth area in Williams Draw and
the sixth area in Sudduth Draw are all floodplains holding inter-
mittent streams draining the Kerr North area. A detailed water
availability investigation has been performed in these areas for an
alluvial valley floor determination and is discussed below.
WATER"AVAILABILITY Cf1ARACTERISTICS
785-11
