RECLAMATION PLAN AND TIMETABLE EXHIBIT D
1. General Reclamation Plan
Overall, the reclamation plan is geared to the wishes of the landowner to create a lake on their prop-
erty, while at the same time providing some additional wetland habitat for birds, mammals amphibi-
ans and other wildlife. The restored slopes of the lake wili have a maximum of 3H:1V slopes and
two locations will have 6H:1 V slopes. The lake is naturally shaped to give it an aesthetically pleas-
ing appearance while still allowing for economic extraction of the gravel resource.
At the end of the 14 month mining period, after Phase 2 is mined out, overburden temporarily
stored in Phase 1 and the temporazy stockpiles will be used to backfill the 1H:1V slopes in the
Phase 2 area to 3H:1V. This will be a quantity of 25,800 cy.
Topsoil from the stockpiles will be replaced on the area from 5' below the expected water level in
the lake to the outside edge of the disturbed area, which is an area of 2.2 acres. This soil will be re-
placed to a minimum thickness of 1.0 feet. This is a volume of 3549 cy, however, a volume of 5162
cy was salvaged from the Phase 1 stripping, therefore, this volume must be placed on the reclaimed
area. The excess soil may be used to create shallow shelves on the lake shore area to recreate
wetlands in these locations.
Map E-2 shows how the site will look after reclamation. Of the 4.75 acre permit azea, the site will
be restored as follows:
1) Approximately 7.5 acres will be left as a lake with a depth of approximately 10-14 feet, which
will be used for wildlife habitat and recreation by the landowners
2) Approximately 0.68 acres of wetlands along the shoreline of the lake, also to be used for wildlife
habitat.
3) Approximately 1.57 acres of dry rangeland above the lake.
19 Road Pit 10(02 18
