Batch-WeiQh/Loadout Svstem
Reclamation of the batch-weigh system coal stockpile area, conveyor azeas, and batch-weigh/loadout building site will
be accomplished according to the existing Reclamation Timetable (Table 52) in Pernrit C-82-056. All structures will be
'~ removed from the site, with the exception of the reclaim tunnel. Concrete foundation materials will either be disposed
of in the reclaim tunnel, or will be transported to the portal highwall cut, and buried. That portion of the reclaim tunnel
which is above grade, will be broken-up. That portion of the reclaim tunnel which is below grade will be demolished to
a depth of approximately 3 feet, the tunnel will be filled with the resulting demolition debris and overburden materials,
and the tunnel will then be abandoned in place.
Reclamation of the batch-weigh system coal stockpile site will involve reconfiguring the site in order to reestablish
premining contours. During construction of the batch-weigh loadout system facilities, fill material may be removed
from the site for use in the realignment of CR 27. Tn order to reestablish premising contours, TCC will replace an
equivalent volume of material at the batch-weigh loadout system site during final reclamation. The replacement
material will consist of spoil obtained during regrading operations in the area south of the existing portals and
associated facilities at the Foidel Creek Mine. The volume of replacement material potentially required (maximum
12,000 cubic yards) will have no discernible impact on the final regraded configuration proposed for the source area
described. After respreading the cover materials, topsoil will be respread. Calculations indicate that 2,500 cubic yazds
of topsoil salvaged from the site will be respread. The respread topsoil will be prepazed for seeding and will be seeded
according to the approved reclamation plan for similaz adjacent azeas. Postmining topography for the area will
approximate that shown on Map 3], Postmining Topography.
7-North Escape Shaft
When the facility is no longer required, the shaft will be plugged, the site graded, topsoiled, and revegetated. A number
of steps will be required to abandon the shaft, including removal of surface structures, demolition of concrete
foundation and piers, and sealing of shaft. After the surface structure is removed, the broken-up foundation and piers
will be put down the shaft. Upon completion of this work, decking will be suspended in the shaft 10 feet below-grade.
The support beams and decking will be suspended from the steel casing by steel straps (i.e. I-beams or similar support
structures) welded to the support beams. The steel straps will be welded to the existing 48-inch diameter casing. Once
this is completed, a 24-inch thick reinforced concrete slab will be poured in-place over the previously placed decking.
The void from on top of the concrete slab to within 5 feet of the surface will be backfilled with fill material
(approximately 1.4 CY) from the surrounding azea. The next 2 feet of the shaft will then be filled with concrete to
form a top plug for the shaft. Fill material will be placed in the remaining 3 feet of the shaft (approximately 1.4 CY),
and then the site will be topsoiled and revegetated. The redistributed topsoil will be seeded with the pastweland seed
mixture.
EMD Ventilation Site
When the Facilities aze no longer required, they will be dismantled and removed from the site. The fans, silencer,
supports, and associated buildings will be removed and hauled from the site. The concrete pads, footers, and piers will
be broken-up and placed into the cased hole. Cement plugs will be poured in the bottom 15 feet of each hole, and in the
intervals corresponding to the Twentymile Sandstone and 20 feet above and below it. The remainder of the hole will be
filled with inert material. A cement plug will be poured from 10 feet to 3 feet below ground surface, and the top 3 feet
will be filled with soil. After the shaft has been plugged and the building materials removed, the site will be regraded to
blend with the surrounding terrain. The topsoil will then be reapplied to the site and seeded with a pastureland seed
mixture.
Dewaterine Borehole and Mine Water Recvcle Svstem
Upon completion of mining, and when the system is no longer required, the facilities will be removed and the site
reclaimed. Removal of the surface facilities will involve removal of the modular electro-coagulation units (2);
dismantling of surface structures, which includes the powerline, transformer and pad, any remaining chemical and pump
control equipment, buildings and pads; and reclamation of the ponds and road. After the facilities are removed, the site
will be regaded to blend with the existing terrain and the stockpiled topsoil redistributed over the azea. The topsoil
redistributed over the dewatering site and reclaimed road segments will be seeded with the pastweland seed mixture.
TR07-59 2.05-105 03/26/07
