The cost to 6ackslope and randomly bench the unstable
material is appror.imately x.40 per yard. Approximately
3500 cubic yards will 6e drilled and shot. Including
clean up and reclamation, the total cost should not
exceed X2,000.
... The operator wishes to discuss your findings on cost of
imported topsoil prior to your recommendation to the
Board.
The following information is provided as answers to Mr.
Y.umli's protest letter of November 2, 1983. Please understand
that the information contained in the amendment application was
taken in part from the original permit.
1. The parent company is L.G. Everist Company, 313 So. Phillips,
Sioux Falls, South Dakota 57102.
2. The basic product is Quartz Monzonite, however, by-products,
fines and some overburden are also sold as road base
material, riprap and other aggregates.
3. The fee has been properly computed in accordance with the
rules and regulations for a permit amendment.
4. The operator has no objection to considering the present use
as mining and agriculture if the term, cattle ranging, is
considered agriculture.
5. The operator is not aware of a residential area in the
surrounding land. Ranching, cattle range, cattle pasture and
hay meadow would be acceptable.
b. Future land use under the current lease and current permit
does not include hay meadow and it is not the operator's
intent to reclaim to hay meadow unless the lease is changed.
7.
