Allow for the efficient and adequate provision of public services. Applicable <br />public services include, but are not limited to, police, fire, school, park and <br />libraries. <br />Bennett Fire District was notified and had no comments. <br />d. Enhance convenience for the present and future residents of Arapahoe <br />County by ensuring that appropriate supporting activiiies, such as employment, <br />housing, leisure-time, and retail centers are in close proximity to one another. <br />With two (2) to six (6) employees there is little need of supporting activities for a mining <br />operation in an agricultural area. <br />e. t:nsure that public health and safety is adequately protected against natural <br />and manmade hazards which include, but are not limited to, traffic noise, wafer <br />pollution, airport hazards and flooding. <br />The site is located in the former Lowry Bombing Range. UXB International, a demolition <br />and clearance Company subcontracted to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and <br />provided reconnaissance activities on the site for the past several months. To date, <br />only spent cartridges from small arms have been located on this property. Staff met on <br />site with employees of UBX who confirmed this information. The County currently has <br />no regulations or policies for any type of development in this area. The site is not <br />located in one of the known UXO Areas of Concern mapped by the Golorado <br />Department of Public Health and Environment. Consequently, the applicant has <br />followed the procedures required by the Army Corp and staff has no outstanding <br />concerns regarding this issue. <br />Russell Johnson, Arapahoe County Weed Inspector, reviewed this application and <br />made recommendations regarding the potential presence of noxious weeds in the area. <br />The owners and operator have agreed to cooperate with the County in an effort to <br />control noxious weeds. <br />A weed management practice will be established that is acceptable to both W <br />Arapahoe County Soil Conservation District and Arapahoe County Wead Inspector and <br />required during the continuation period. <br />Tri-County Health requires a fugitive dust control plan and erosion control measures <br />and the applicant is required to comply with their regulations. In addition, the project is <br />subject to the Colorado Department of Health regulations which the applicant is <br />required to comply with. The Army Corp of Engineers submlttetl comments that a a0a <br />permit may be required. The proposal does not encroach into Box Elder Creek and a <br /> <br />
