4-9
Based on these data, the 68 acres of disturbance are not sig-
nificant to farming.
• 4.1.3.4.5 Conclusions
As a result of the AVF study, only the strip of alluvial sed-
iments along the East Salt Creek has been identified as an Allu-
vial Valley Floor. This strip has been flood-irrigated, as it
has been used for agricultural purposes in the past.
The narrow valleys along the eastern extreme of East Salt Creek
Valley that include McClane Canyon and Munger Creek Canyon have
not been classified as an AVF because of the lack of water avail-
ablility and poor soils.
A relevant issue following the identification of an AVF is sig-
nificance to farming, or the productivity of the land to be
taken out of production relative to the overall production of
the farm unit in question. Information contained herein, spe-
cifically in Section 4.1.3.4.4 clearly shows the insignificance
• of that portion of the "farming" activity that would be inter-
rupted, discontinued or (temporarily) precluded. The proposed
operation clearly meets the exception of the insignificance re-
lative to activities on AVF's.
•
_ ..,,,,.
