• ~ks and Gesso, LLC
as shown by the Reclamation Plan Map. On the western side of the property,
slopes will come up to the eastern limit of the 50 foot wide Fulton Ditch
maintenance easement. Slopes will be created at a 3 to 1 grade to a point 10
feet below the anticipated water line, and below that point to the floor of the
reservoir, slopes will be at a 2 to 1 grade.
Backfill operations will begin after mining has adequately cleared an area of the
mine floor, up to the 1 to 1 highwalls, to allow efficient use of equipment and to
prevent interference with on-going mining activity. Fill material will be placed in
horizontal layers, wetted, and compacted. If necessary, layers will be scarified to
enhance bonding with successive layers. Clods will be minimized and fill
material will not be put in place, if it is frozen, or the existing embankment is
frozen. Backfill and slope creation is expected to follow mining activity by up to 6
months.
Topsoil Handlin~c
Topsoil that can be consolidated prior to mining will be stockpiled near to the
center of the mine and will be seeded with a temporary cover for protection from
disturbances associated with mining and from wind and water erosion and
compaction.
Following mining, topsoil will be applied to areas of disturbance that will not be
permanently covered with water. Disturbed area above the anticipated water line
is expected to be less than three acres and will include the shoreline, the 20 foot
benches surrounding the reservoir, and the area of access from East 124`n
Avenue. No more than 2,500 yards of topsoil will be required to complete
reclamation; and because the Operator has estimated as much as 60,000 yards
of topsoil and overburden to be currently present, excess material will be
transported off-site.
124 Estates -Regular 112 Application 01029.WD
124" Estates Partners ~ ~ August 2001
