AREA W3 (2.7 ACRES):

Location: Along the west permit boundary and just east of railroad.
Condition: Essentially in pre-permit condition. This is a berm area
that has existed since the railroad rras built. With the exception of a small
vegetated parcel between Area W2 and Area W9, this land is fully vegetated and
in pre-permit condition occupied by native and introduced grasses and the
customary weeds of disturbed land.
Future Reclamation: None needed.
Current Reclamation: None needed.
Disturbance Reduction Program: Not applicable.
AREA W9 (2.35 ACRES):
Location: South of Area W2 and related to Areas W3, W5, and W13.
Condition: Formerly part of a sediment basin in a mined out gravel area
described in the 1985 amendment. The northern two thirds is vegetated with ~~
invader grasses, some phreatophytes, and early successional weeds. Southern
third is disturbed and contains little vegetation.
Future Reclamation: Topsoil unvegetated areas with soil from Area W1 (if
it will go that far) after smooth grading, otherwise rip and vegetate. (Note:
These old sediment basins are very easy to revegetate without topsoil.)
Current Reclamation: Smooth grade disturbed area; topsoil (if
available); revegetate. (Note: If currently to be placed under final
reclamation, it would be advisable to fully assess the nature of the
vegetation on the vegetated portions as it might be best to not disturb
existing vegetation or sircQly interseed existing vegetation.)
Disturbance Reduction Program: Not included.
AREA WS (3.2 ACRES):
Location: South of Area W2.
Condition: A recently abandoned sediment basin in a former gravel mining
pit. Flat bottom with low, near vertical slopes.
Future Reclamation: Topographically merge with Area WZ, topsoil, and
revegetate.
Current Reclamation: Same as future reclamation.
Disturbance Reduction Program: Included.
AREA W6 (5.6 ACRES):
Location: East and immediately adjacent to Areas W1, W2, and W5.
Condition: A very old sediment basin area that has been mined ou~ and is
currently used primarily for soil stockpiling (total volume = 9,100 yd ).
Future Reclamation: Smooth grade in a gentle slope to the south and
southeast. Utilize soil to revegetate this area, Area WS and the western
portion of Area W7.
Current Reclamation: Same as future reclamation.
Disturbance Reduction Program: Included.
Page 5 Bonding Information M-73-007/M-77-213 January 7, 1992
