AREA BY AREA DESCRIPTION
DANIELS SAND PIT N2
PERMIT NM-73-007
The following is an area by area description of each of the units identified
on both the east side and the west side of Academy Boulevard. Each
description includes responses to the applicable items in the November 1, 1991
letter, a description of how the area fits into a disturbance reduction plan
to reduce the amount of major disturbance, and how the particular areas relate
to adjacent disturbed areas.
Five different categories are used to describe each azea.
1. Location: A description of where the azea is on the permit and in
relation to other areas.
2. Condition: A brief description of the topography, vegetation,
current uses, and the Future uses, if relevant.
3. Future Reclamation: A description of how this area would be
reclaimed if the operation where to be completed in accordance with the
current permitted plans. In some cases, reference is made to an amendment
that is currently under design and how that amendment would considerably
i~rove the reclaimability of that particular area over what is currently
planned and permitted.
9. Current Reclamation: What would be done now if it had to be done.
5. Disturbance Reduction Program: Indicates whether the area is
included in this program or not. The program has selected certain lands
(about 35 to 90 acres) that can be placed in a minor disturbance category
immediately in order to reduce the amount of bond exposure required by the
State of Colorado to reclaim the site in the event Transit Mix went out of
business. This program has already begun to be implemented and work will
continue on this program until completed.
AREA W1 (2.9 ACRES):
Location: NW corner of west side of Academy.
Co ition: Contains topsoil stockpiles derived from Area W2 (volume =
6,000 yd )
Future Reclamation: Replace over backfilled and graded Area W2.
Current Reclamation: same as future reclamation.
Disturbance Reduction Program: Will be cort~leted in accordance with
plan to reduce major disturbance areas and place land under reclamation.
AREA WZ (5.9 ACRES):
Location: Immediately south of Area W1.
Condition: Rough graded; ideally would require small amount of
additional fill, but not essential, and topsoil derived from Area W1.
Future Reclamation: Complete filling; topsoil; revegetate.
Current Reclamation: Same as future reclamation.
Disturbance Reduction Program: Included in conjunction with Area W1.
Page 9 Bonding Information M-73-007/M-77-213 January 7, 1992
