5) Construction of a rock diversion chute and stacker belt. As
• mentioned above, this chute and stacker belt will be an addition
to the existing outside facilities located in the 5A yard. Rock
coming out of the 5A portal on the overland belt will be
diverted onto a short stacker belt and placed in a stockpile
before being hauled to the storage area along the highwall.
This stockpile will contain a maximum of 500 yd3 (20 ft. pile).
The entire belt and stockpile area is within the existing
sediment control system for the 5A yard, therefore no
modifications are needed to the existing system.
6) Portal heater installation - Due to the proximity of this work
. to the portals, intake air to this area will have to be heated
during cold weather to prevent freezing of water lines and
water/oil emulsion fluids. The heater will be natural gas or
propane fired. It will be located near the 5A intake portal and
will be ducted to both the intake and belt portals. It will be
installed in accordance with all MSHA regulations pertaining to
gas fired portal heaters. It is located within the limits of
the existing sediment control system, therefore no modifications
will be needed to the existing system. If natural gas is used,
the local natural gas company, Greeley Gas, will be contracted
to bring the natural gas supply line into the 5N yard area.
Line installation will be done under their own rules and
regulations.
• (REV. 4/29/86)
IV-50f
