• l~ks and Gesso, LLC <br />tailwater ditches on the agricultural portion of the property south of the permit <br />area. These ditches will be improved during initial mining operations and a new <br />delineation may occur prior to mining these areas. Where jurisdictional wetlands <br />prove to be permanent natural features in Cells 3 and 4, the Applicant will <br />mitigate wetland disturbance by obtaining an Individual 404 Permit. <br />Initial mining operations wilt include stripping of topsoil and overburden; <br />excavation of the dewatering trenches, sedimentation pond and sump areas; and <br />development of the process water ponds <br />After the topsoil has been stripped, the raw material will be excavated with front- <br />end loaders, hydraulic excavators, and off-road haul trucks, or as an option, the <br />material may be loaded on a field conveyor in the mining area and conveyed <br />back to the processing area. Material near bedrock may be pushed up with a <br />bulldozer or excavated with a large hydraulic excavator for subsequent handling <br />with haul trucks. <br />Annual production will depend upon the demand for construction materials, but is <br />anticipated to be between 60,000 and 150,000 tons per year <br />Earthmoving Operations -Rule 6.4.4(b1 <br />Prior to stripping operations, earthmoving will begin with grubbing a small amount <br />of agricultural vegetation. Compostable organic material will be saved with the <br />topsoil for use as mulch during final reclamation. Topsoil will be initially stored in <br />stockpiles for future reclamation. Portions of stockpiled topsoil will be used for <br />visual screening berms constructed around the perimeter of the plant area, to be <br />planted with the temporary seed mix specified in Exhibit E. <br />Overburden stripped from one area will be respread directly on other areas being <br />concurrently reclaimed during subsequent stripping operations.
