~ks and Gesso, LLC
site. Since the northwest corner of the property will be reclaimed as natural
pasture (prior to any commercial development), topsoil will be stockpiled for final
reclamation of the surface above water levels on this and other reclaimed areas.
Water Diversions and Imaoundments -Rule 6.4.4 lcl
Aggregate processing water at the GreenlCroissant Property Sand and Gravel
Mine will be separate from the dewatering and stormwater systems. Cells 1 and
2 have special functions relating to processing water. Following initial mining,
Cell 1 will be used as a water supply pond. In turn, Cell 2 will receive process
water in its western half (separated by a temporary dike, see Exhibit C-3). Silt
and fines will settle in the delineated section of Cell 2 for the life of the mine. The
silt ponds at the western area of the property will be maintained below existing
grades, so that any precipitation will be retained in this area. Moreover, some
de-watering discharges will be diverted back to the processing water system by
way of Cell 1.
Grading and shallow ditches on-site will direct stormwater from all areas of
surface disturbance into the mine property dewatering systems. Furthermore, in
Mining Cells 1 and 2, after the water is clarified and the sediments collected,
process water will be discharged into on-site ditches, or a pipe (if required by the
Division of Minerals and Geology), along the northern boundary and join flows
toward the Big Thompsori River. A Colorado Discharge Permit System (CDPS)
permit will be obtained for the discharge water associated with dewatering
operations. Tailwater ditches along the eastern property line will be relocated to
direct their flows to the river, in accordance with this plan.
Until slope backfill begins, dewatering quantities will increase as the initial
excavation enlarges and approaches the mining limits of Cells 1 and 2. Once
slope backfill begins in the later half of Cell 2, the quantities of groundwater
pumped will then remain stable. Since concurrent backfilling of the perimeter will
occur throughout Phase 2 and 3 mining, de-watering quantities are uniform and
GreeNCroissant Property Sand and Gravel Mine.CDMG.112 Permit 20023
Loveland Ready Mix Concrete, Inc. $ March 2001
