• <br />Section 816.89 (a) Continued. <br />local scrap dealers. A semi-truck trailer is utilized to store <br />items, such as broken bolts, worn-out engine parts, etc. which <br />might be recyclable. Once the trailer is full, a scrap dealer <br />hauls it to his scrap yard, empties the material, and returns the <br />trailer to the mine. Any machinery or parts too large to be <br />stored in the trailer are placed near the shop-facilities for <br />periodic salvage by the local scrap dealers. No mining machinery <br />is merely abandoned by Energy Fuels. <br />Wastewater from toilets, sinks and showers is disposed of by means <br />of both septic tanks and underground leach fields. Approximately <br />eight enclosed portable, self-contained toilets are located around <br />the mining operation. These portable facilities are cleaned weekly <br />by a contract service. The waste from these portable toilets is <br />hauled from the mine for disposal. <br />• (b) Final disposal of noncoal wastes shall be in a designated disposal <br />site in the permit area. Disposal sites shall be designed and constructed <br />with approcriate water barriers on the bottom and sides of the designated <br />site. Wastes shall be routinely compacted and covered to prevent <br />combustion and wind-born waste. When the disposal is completed a minimum <br />of 2 feet of soil cover shall be placed over the site, slopes stabilized, <br />and revegetation accomplished in accordance with 30 CFk 816.111-816.117. <br />- Operation of the disposal site shall be conducted in accordance with all <br />local, State, and Federal reeuirements. <br />As stated in Section 816.89 (a), noncoal wastes, with the exception <br />of the temporary containment of used lubricants, are disposed of in <br />designated, disposal sites outside the permit area. <br />• <br />(c) At no time shat any solid waste material be deposited at refuse <br />embankments or impoundment sites, nor shall any excaaation for solid <br />816-106 <br />
