(E) (i) Timetables for completion of each phase are controlled by market
conditions, Listed below is our best guess given market predictions and
growth history of the surrounding area. Expected life of the mine is
estimated at 17 - 24 years.
Phase I 8 -10 years
Phase II 6 - 8 years
Phase III 3 - 6 years
(ii) As discussed in 6.4.4(d) above we anticipate limiting our
disturbance to each phase at one time.
Phase I 16.05 acres
Phase II 14.50 acres
Phase III 7.85 acres
{iii) Please see Map labeled Exhibit C3.iii for visual presentation of
mining directions.
(a). Phase I mining will begin at the northern edge of the mining
area and proceed to the south. We intend on establishing a
face across the entire east-west face to minimize segregation of
the mined material. We will work a vertical face but install the
3H:1V slope along the eastern slope as mining progresses.
Once the toe of the slope is reached the material will be mined
at 3H:1V. Once this slope is complete, the topsoil will be
redistributed.
(b). Phase II mining shall begin upon completion of the Phase I
area. Mining will begin in the northeast corner and proceed
westerly to establish another east-west vertical face. Once the
toe of the west slope is reached mining will proceed to the
south. The west slope will be mined at 3H:1V to minimize
reclamation efforts later. A vertical east-west face shall be
maintained until the toe of the southern slope is reached. At
that point the wall will be sloped to the 3H:1V. Topsoil will be
replaced along both slopes as work allows.
