can be demonstrated that potential chemical load impacts are only .
approximately one-half the amounts projected in the 9/86 PHC analysis.
The highest recorded June tonnage (chemical load) from Site 004 is only
1.28, whereas 3.03 tons/day was used in the impact analysis. The
projected TDS increase in Fish Creek during June was 39 mg/1, whereas
only a 12 mg/1 increase (1984) can be calculated for the highest values
actually measured (Table 7-1-7). The highest recorded July tonnage from
Site OU4 is only 0.78 while 1.21 tons/day was used in the impact
analysis. The projected TDS increase in Fish Creek during July was 38
mg/1 while only a 24 mg/1 increase (1986) can be calculated for the
highest values actually measured (Table 7-1-7).
Bond Creek
Flow and TDS values for Site SW-52-9 (Bond Creek) discharges are
presented in Tables 7-1-4 through 7-1-6. Mean monthly flows measured at
SW-S2-9 in June and July, 1987 were 0.016 and 0.022 cfs, respectively.
Average June and July flows for the period of record are the same, as
spoils related discharges have only been occurring for approximately 1
year. The construction of Pond 008 interrupted discharges in the fall,
1987 and spring, 1988. Discharges will commence once the decant level
in Pond 008 is exceeded. The flow values that have been measured are at
least an order of magnitude below the 0.5 and 0.2 cfs June and July flow
values used in the Bond Creek surface water quality impact analyses.
TDS values measured at Site SW-52-9 in June through August, 1987 ranged
from 536 to 618 mg/1; whereas, the PHC analysis employed TDS- values of
2,245 mg/1.
In comparing the values used in the Table 7-73 impact projections for
the Bond Creek drainage with actual measured values at Site SW-S2-9, it
can be demonstrated that potential chemical load impacts are negligible
as of this date (refer to Table 7-1-7). The 1987 June and July flow and
TDS values measured are too low to permit calculating any measurable
change using the approach outlined in Table 7-73.
7-1-2 Revised 05/16/88
