ATTACHMENT 7-1
•-
Impacts to Fish Creek Water Quality Including
the East Wadge Extension Area Disturbance
Introduction
In the Probable Hydrologic Consequences (PHC) Section of the Seneca II
Permit Renewal, impacts to the surface water quality from mining in the
Cow Camp and Bond Creek drainages is discussed on Pages 7-245 to 7-254.
Time periods (particular months) and values used in the surface water
impact assessments were mutually agreed upon in meetings with CMLRD
hydrologists and are presented in Tables 7-71, 7-72 and 7-73 in Tab 7.
It was agreed with CMLRD that June and July flow and water quality
impacts would address the two critical flow months for surface water
quality. As the above-referenced text and analyses did not include the
proposed East Wadge Extension Area, the following PHC analysis is
included to incorporate any additional potential impacts.
Cow Camp Creek
Tables 7-1-1 through 7-1-6 are presented to summarize and incorporate
the flow and TDS data collected since the PHC analyses were performed
(9/86). Flow and TDS values for Site NPDES 004 (Cow Camp Creek)
discharges are presented in Tables 7-1-1 through 7-1-3. Mean monthly
flows measured at the 004 site in June and July, 1987 were 0.170 and
0.082 cfs, respectively. Average June and July flows for the 004 site
for the period of record are 0.267 and 0.153 cfs, respectively. These
values are still well below the 0.5 and 0.2 cfs June and July flow
values used in the 004 site (Cow Camp Creek) surface water quality
impact analyses. June and July TDS values measured at the 004 site are
approaching but are still below the 2,245 mg/1 impact assessment values
used.
In comparing the values used in the Table 7-72 impact projections for
the Cow Camp Creek drainage with actual measured values at Site 004, it
7-1-1 Revised 05/16/88
