C. Performance of Work <br />Supplemental work shall be performed after the general construction work <br />in that particular area has been accomplished and shall consist of <br />general earthmoving or other finishing work as may be directed by the <br />PROJECT MANAGER. <br />All operations under this section will be under the direct supervision of <br />the PROJECT MANAGER and work under this section shall be performed only <br />as ordered and directed by the PROJECT MANAGER. The PROJECT MANAGER will <br />designate the work to be performed and the order in which it is to be <br />done, and WILL inspect all work. The PROJECT MANAGER will maintain <br />documentation of the work. <br />Equipment Rental Documentation <br />A. The PROJECT MANAGER will maintain a job diary to record daily activities, <br />progress and accomplishments. <br />B. At the close of each day's operations during which equipment rental work <br />has been directed to be done by the PROJECT MANAGER under this <br />specification, the PROJECT MANAGER shall prepare, in duplicate, a form <br />entitled "Equipment Rental Record" listing the date, times and total <br />hours (computed to the nearest one-half hour), each piece of equipment <br />was operated in accordance with this specification. <br />"Operation" means that time spent in performing work as well as time <br />necessary for moving equipment around the work site when directed by the <br />PROJECT MANAGER. However, "operation" does not include that time spent <br />in transporting the equipment to the initial work site, removing the <br />equipment when all work had been completed, transporting the equipment <br />away from and returning it to the work site in the event of a temporary <br />or seasonal suspension of operation, maintenance of the equipment, any <br />time during which the equipment is "bogged down" or otherwise <br />non-productive, nor for any periods during which operations are suspended <br />by the OWNER. <br />C. After completion of the "Equipment Rental Record" form, the <br />PROJECT MANAGER will obtain the concurrence of the CONTRACTOR as to time <br />and hours each piece of equipment was actually operated in conformance <br />with this specification and furnish a copy of each day's "Equipment <br />Rental Record" form to the CONTRACTOR. <br />4.4 Measurement and Payment <br />The number of hours each piece and type of equipment used as directed by <br />the PROJECT MANAGER under this specification will be counted to the <br />nearest one-half hour. Payment will be made at the unit price <br />established by the Invitation and Bid Sheet and in the purchase order <br />contract for supplemental earthwork for each piece and type of <br />equipment.
