the refuse pile in conjunction with the subsidence area and the
coal stockpile area since they all involve earth moving. The time
frame in which to complete this is as follows:
Inspect area w/Tom
Bid Package Preparation
Bidding Period
Purchase Order Issuance
Construction Period
Invoice Processing
Notice of Cont Settlement
April 1993
May/June 1993
July/August 1993
September 1993
September/October 1993
October 1993
November 1993
5. According to Division notes, Western Slope Carbon drilled a
number of methane de-gas wells over the lease area during the early
1980's. Several of the wells are still open and need to be
properly sealed and plugged. The drill pads and roads may also
need to be regraded and seeded. The drill holes may overlap with
de-gas wells owned and operated by the Somerset Mine. Somerset may
also want to permit some of the Hawk's Nest wells since they are in
the vicinity of the Somerset mine. Tom has prepared a sketch map
of the area showing the well locations. In the Hawk's Nest files
there are also several map showing the well locations.
In the April inspection I hope to locate all the wells that require
reclamation. I hope to have a representative from the Somerset
Mine participate in the inspection to ensure that we will not
reclaim wells that they may want to permit under the mine.
Because this reclamation task is fairly specific, I recommend that
we bid for this item separately. Most contractors would probably
sub contract out this particular task because it is normally
handled by drilling companies. I will verify this with people in
the Inactive Program before I proceed with this task.
Inspect area w/Tom
Bid Package Preparation
Bidding Period
Purchase Order Issuance
Construction Period
Invoice Processing
Notice of Cont. All of the reclamation activity mentioned above will need to
be seeded. This includes the coal silo area, the refuse disposal
area and the reclaimed de-gas wells. I proposed that the area be
seeded in the spring or fall of 1994. This task should also be
performed by a separate contractor, and thus requiring a separate
bid package. By conducting reclamation in 1994 we can ensure that
4
