Page 12
graphically in Appendix B. Each of the three drainage areas had
cross section measurements taken at two locations.
The cross sections show that Features 1 and 3 are very stable, and
in the case of Feature 1 even appear to be healing. Feature 2
showed some degradation on one side slope of Cross Section 1 and in
depth on Cross Section 2.
Although some movement was noticied in Feature 2, no mitigation on
these features are proposed for this year. To repair the minor
changes on Feature 2 would cause much more disturbance than the
original hydraulic movement. This Feature will be checked closely
on the next report to see if it will stabilize.
Normal maintanence activities of clean out of the rock structures
upstream of these cross sections will be accomplished during the
1995 field season.
CORRECTIONAL MEASURES AND METHODS SUMMARY
Based on the data collected during this 1995 inventory following
are areas to receive repair activities during the 1995 field
season.
Moffat Area Block 2:
There is gully that has formed along a line running roughly
east west through the low point of this block. This appears
to be the collection point for a natural drainage for the
area, therefore this gully will be shaped, seeded and lined
with a vegetation mat material. This work will be finished by
the end of the 1995 field season.
Moffat Area Block 4:
Approximately on the north-south mid point of this block
running approximately 150' above the Middle Moffat Haul Road
is a network of gullies formed during this years spring run-
off. This area will be selectively tilled along the contour
to eliminate these gullies and the repaired area will be
seeded with the approved reclamation seed mix. This Block is
part of the trial area above the middle haul road that is to
receive no seeding so the disturbance on this area will be
kept to a minimum. This work will be accomplished during
seeding activities on the Moffat Area during the 1995 field
season.
Moffat Area Block 5:
The gullies to be repaired in this area are adjacent to the
uncompleted down drain at the northern edge of this block,
(Moffat Area Down Drain #1) especially toward the western edge
6/22/95 DLB
