loaders, compressors, various sized bulldozers, shovels and backhces, trackhces, <br />trenchers, boring machines, cranes, side booms, generators, and bending <br />machines. Numerous private vehicles, pickups, and smaller trucks will also be <br />used for transportation. <br />Hauling and stringing of materials on the ROW will be performed in such a <br />manner as to prevent damage to areas outside of the ROW and to prevent <br />interference with normal uses of the lands Qossed. Gaps will be left to allow <br />livestock to pass across the ROW. Roads will not be blocked during hauling <br />operations on designated access roads. <br />3.1.8 Miscellaneous <br />• Noise: Noise from pipeline construction will be distributed over the <br />segments of the project being constructed. Noise will be caused by engines <br />and earth removal and will be more concentrated where excavation and <br />trenching aze taking place. This noise is limited to pipeline construction <br />activities. <br />• Pipeline Quality Control: All pipeline facilities will be designed and <br />constructed in accordance with applicable requirements of 49 CFR Part 195 <br />"Transportation of Hazazdous Liquids by Pipeline" • and in compliance <br />with the OSHA regulations pertaining to pipeline construction and <br />operation. American Soda will x-ray 100 percent of all girth welds until <br />welding qualities are acceptable. X-ray could be reduced but will remain <br />above the required 10 percent. Quality control inspection of the physical <br />pipeline and its integrity will be provided by American Soda. <br />• Construction Waste and Human Waste: The pipeline construction project <br />will be maintained in a sanitary condition at all times; project waste <br />materials will be disposed of promptly at astate-permitted or county- <br />permitted waste disposal site or sites. "Waste' means all discarded matter <br />including but not limited to human waste, trash, garbage, refuse, oil; <br />petroleum products, filters, welding rod, or equipment. Portable toilets <br />will be available.
