crushed rock pads will be constructed for placement of the electrical
equipment. It is anticipated that a fence with locking gate will be
constructed around the pad. Also, secondary sediment control
structures, such as straw bales or silt fence, will be placed below the
substation site. This will be done to control sediment off of the site.
A light-use road will be constructed into the site as shown on Map
IV-15. The road will be approximately 20 feet wide into the site and a
turn around area will be provided for next to the pad. The top 3-6
inches of soil will be salvaged and stockpiled for future reclamation
work. The soil from the pad and road preparation wi 11 be stockpiled in
the same stockpile. A 24" culvert will be placed in the collection
ditch (HR-D4) where the road crosses the ditch. A 24~" culvert will be
installed in the drainage next to the collection ditch.
During the soil salvaging process approximately 410 yd3 to 815 yd3
of soil will be stockpiled for future use. The range of volumes shown
indicated the minimum and maximum amount of soil that can be salvaged.
The stockpile will be stabilized using the above seed mixture.
The location of the road meets the vertical and horizontal
alignment requirements, a review of the location of the road on Map
IV-15 clearly shows this. It is anticipated that the road will be
surfaced with crushed red rock.
A power line will be installed from the substation to the power
borehole. The poles will be installed along the line shown on Map IV-2.
A truck mounted auger will be used to bore the holes into which the
poles wi 11 be set. Trucks wi 11 be used to run the 1 i ne between the
(REV. 9/24/84) IV-44p
